Importance of Service and Maintenance:

D&D’s work often involves critical maintenance tasks that keep quarry operations running smoothly. Recently, one of our main crew installers and his team visited a rock quarry customer to perform a process known as drive pulley lagging. This involves applying a thick rubber material to the drive pulley, to ensure that the pulley properly grips the conveyor belt surface. Over time, this material wears off the surface of the pulley, and without it, the bare metal pulley surface can slip, causing significant wear and tear on the belt, leading to operational disruptions. 

Striving for Excellence: 

During this visit, an unexpected issue arose. One of the quarry's belts had torn. Despite having already been on-site for hours, the quarry staff requested our team to perform an additional task – applying a saddle, which is essentially a giant patch, to fix the belt. Our team, always prepared to go above and beyond, readily agreed and completed the repair, ensuring the quarry's operations could continue without further interruption.
